Fresh Meat is a dance/theater piece that premiered on artFart-festival august 2009. Five performances in Reykjavík in august 2009 and two in Rose-theater London in Febuary 2010. All proceeds from the performances in London were donated to unifem.
Fresh meat was selected one of 3 best danceperformances of the year 2009 by the critics of newspaper Morgunblaðið.
About the piece; Everything looks perfect on the outside. But if you really look, what will you see? Research has been made on the relationship between unenployment and increase of domestic violence. Where does it start from.What is the relationship between the doer and the victim. Victims of abuse in childhood often turn to abusing others later in life.
Fresh meat is a dance/theaterpice by Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir and Snædís Lilja Ingadóttir. They both graduated from the dance department of the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2009.
