Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir

DF-Krummi var stofnað árið 2010 af dönsurunum/danshöfundunum Katrínu Gunnarsdóttur, Sögu Sigurðardóttur, Sigríði Soffíu Níelsdóttur og Snædísi Lilju Ingadóttur. Fyrsta verk DF-Krumma var verkið Þá skal ég muna þér kinnhestinn sem frumsýnt var á Reykjavík Dance Festival ´10.

DF-Krummi was founded in 2010 by choreographers Katrínu Gunnarsdóttur, Sögu Sigurðardóttur, Sigríði Soffíu Níelsdóttur og Snædísi Lilju Ingadóttur. There first piece, Look back with a vengance premiered on Reykjavík Dance festival´10.

About dancers and choreographers of Krummi:
Katrín Gunnarsdottir graduated from ArtEz institute of the Arts in the Netherlands
2008. She has a BA degree in choreography but has been dancing in various performances
since 2005. Katrin received a DanceWEB scholarship 2007 in Impulstanz Vienna
with Jonathan Burrows as her mentor. Her works have been performed in festivals in
Spain, The Netherlands, Belgium and wider. She is a member of the dance collective
I.C.K.D. or The Icelandic Corporation of Kinetic Development. The group has been
nominated “Choreographer of the year” at the Icelandic Theatre Awards, in 2009 for “DJ
Happiness” and in 2010 for “Shake Me”. The latter was shown at the Reykjavík Dance
Festival in 2009. The group is currently working on “Candyland”, a new dance and theatre
production that will be shown in December 2010.

Saga Sigurðardóttir studied dance and choreography at the ArtEZ College of art in Arnhem,
Netherlands. After her graduation in 2006 she founded the performance duet saga&magga
together with choreographer Margrét Bjarnadóttir. In 2009, saga&magga received the
Icelandic Theater Award, Gríman, as “choreographers of the year” for their work in
Humanimal, a devised work by theater collective “Me and my friends”.
saga&magga perfomed their latest work, PRETTY BASSIC a choreographed concert for two
perfomers and two bass guitars, at TUPP festival in Uppsala (Sweden) as a side dish to Laurie
Anderson´s Europe premiere of her new creation, Delusions.
Saga has collaborated and performed with various artists and collectives in Iceland and off
shore, she has most prominently worked collaboratively with Israeli choreographer Anat
Eisenberg (Berlin) and Swiss choreographer Alexandra Bachzetsis (Zurich).

Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir graduated from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts with a BA-
degree in contemporary dance. In the fall of 2009 she did an exchange in Ecole Superiour
des arts des cirque, a Circus school in Brussels. Sigríður has worked as a dancer Shalala the
company of Erna Ómarsdóttir, The Icelandic Dance company and working as a freelance
dancer/choreogprapher in independent projects.
In the spring of 2008 she made the dance shortfilm Uniform Sierra.. Uniform Sierra
won “Best film” in Actefestival in Bilbao Spain and received the peoples choice award
in Reykjavík short film festival. Since then the film has been shown in festivals in
Iceland, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Helsinki and was selected as a part of ReelDance
festival. ReelDance is Australia’s biggest video-dance festival and is touring around
all major cities in Australia and New Zealand this summer. Sigríður created the
piece “Colorblind” for Silesian Dance Theater in Poland in 2010 and just finished a creation
for the Icelandic dance company “White for decay”.

Snædís Lilja Ingadóttir graduated this year from Rose Bruford College in England with a
BA-degree in acting but she also has a BA in contemporary dance from the Iceland Academy
of the Arts. In her own work she made the performance “Fresh Meat” in collaboration
with choreographer Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir. “Fresh Meat” was selected one of the 3
best dance performances of the year 2009 by the Theater critics of the Icelandic newspaper
Morgunblaðið. “Fresh Meat” was performed in Rose-Theater, London last February.and
all profits of the performance were donated to Unifem. Snædís also showed the dance
piece “Rough Sea” at the 2009 Artfart Festival. Her final project from Rose Bruford, “Just
here”, was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is currently performing in the
Icelandic musical “Dísa Ljósálfur” (Disa the Fairy)
