“900 02” will premiere on the 20th of October in Leikhúsbatteríið,Reykjavík Iceland.
It is a solo-dance peace made around the minimalistic music peace “The Disintegration Loops” by William Basinski.
The music peace is played for an audience in a theater room. On the stage the lights follow a similar process as the music peace. It deteriorates over a time of 43 minutes from light to darkness. This is not done with a simple fade but by cutting the light systematically more and more over the duration of the performance. This gives the light process a musical quality that will sometimes sync with the music and sometimes counteract it.
The repetitive nature of the music and the musical quality of the lights have a very hypnotic impact on the audience that will get stronger over the duration of the performance.
The big experiment is putting a person in this equation. In this case it a dancer that will perform a dance, non stop over the whole duration of the performance. The dance is synced with the deteriorating music and is executed in the musical changes from pitch black to light.

Sigríður Soffía graduated from the Iceland Academy of the arts, Department of Dance in spring 2009 and did an exchange programme at the Circus school ESAC, Brussels. She choreographed and directed Uniform Sierra, which was voted the best dance short film at Actfestival´09, Bilbao and viewers´choice at Reykjavík Shortfilm festival in 2008.
Selected dance projects include Bakkynjur (2007), National Theater, Reykjavik dir. Giorogs Zambulakis, choreographed by Erna Ómarsdóttir. Wearing Weather (2009) Reykjavik Art Festival, Nordic House (with Snædís Lilja in Björk Viggósdóttir´s installation). Lady´s Choice?(2009),Batteríið, Reykjavík, Fresh Meat (2009), Leikhúsbatteríið, Reykjavik (with Snædís Lilja). She is currently taking part in Erna Ómarsdóttir´s Teach us to outgrow our Madness (2009) that premiered in Brest, France.
