Opin generalprufa á Colorblind á morgun/Open rehersal tomorrow on “Colorblind”

Open rehersal of“ Colorblind” by Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir a piece made for Silesian Dance Theater tomorrow at 19:00 at 27 Żeromskiego Street, Bytom, Poland. The piece will not formally premiere until June when both Colorblind and a new creation by Jacek Luminski for the Icelandic Dance company  will share an evening.

In the beginning of our lives, we are equally helpless.
We are honest; a true reflection of our needs.
the world is black and white.
nobody knows the rules of the game into which we are born.
we don’t even know how to play in fact,we don’t even know that we are playing.we are blind to it.
there are no strategies, no levels, no extra lives.”
Many things are controlled by coincidence. We are all linked together. In a way we impact the lives of others regardless of wether we choose to do so or not.
With time you start to realize that even though you are colorblind, the world is still in color.
sometimes its better just to let go.

About the choreography:
In parts of the choreography the dancers influence each other. No performance is therefore the same. A complex game of dancefrases was structured for the middle part of the piece leaving the composition and dynamic to the chance of the game. The dancers therefore form an organic system of their own like a school of fish swimming in a highly synchronized and polarized manner.
