The critics of Icelandic newspaper “Morgunblaðið” announced the 5 best dance performances of the year. “Eldar-choreography for 3 tons of fireworks ” was one of the performances selected. “Eldar” received 4 stars of 5 “ Choreography for fireworks by Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir, The dancers of the performance are the three tons of explosives directed in Reykjavík´s city centre with the help of Reykjavík´s Rescue squads. This year Icelands biggest fireworks show (at the Day of Culture) was redesigned by choreographer Sigga Soffia and given a new context. The piece was mesmerising and admired by the 80 thousand people that gathered in the centre. For the first time in the history of Iceland the fireworks where heavily choreographed and the audience asked to view the show as a dance performance.
