Opnun Listahátíðar í Reykjavík var haldin hátíðlega síðastliðin föstudag 18.maí í Hörpunni.Hljómsveitin Retro Stefson spilaði yfir opnuninni en dansararnir Valgerður Rúnarsdóttir, Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir og Melkorka Sigríður fluttu dansverk sem samið hafði verið að þessu tilefni. Dansinn var fluttur við lagið Kimba Kimba en verkið var í listrænni stjórn Melkorku Sigríðar en Ellen Loftsdóttir sá um stíliseringu.
//Grand opening of Reykjavík Arts festival 2012 was held at the concerthouse Harpan last friday the 18th of may. The band Retro Stefson played during the opening. Dancers Valgerður Rúnarsdóttir, Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir & Melkorka Sigríður performed a happening by Melkorka Sigríður, stylized by Ellen Loftsdóttir.

Xanadu- Choreography for Hildur Yeoman at Reykjavík fashion festival 30.03.2012
•April 7, 2012 • Leave a CommentMyndir frá Xanadu-dansperformansinum sem ég samdi fyrir sýningu Hildar Yeoman á Reykjavík Fashion Festival. Daniel Ágúst flutti bæði Xanadu auk Ladyshave en dansararnir Ásgeir Helgi Mangússon, Lovísa Ósk Gunnardóttir og Unnur Elísabet sýndu öll helstu jazzsporin í Silfurbergi í Hörpunni. Öflugir dansarar sem skella sér bara í það með mér í að læra að dansa á hjólaskautum á einni viku.
Pictures from the Xanadu-inspired choreography that I made for Hildur Yeomans latest colletion at Reykjvík Fashion festival (www.rff.is) Daniel Ágúst performed live both Xanadu and Ladyshave and dancers Ásgeir Helgi Mangússon, Lovísa Ósk Gunnardóttir, Unnur Elísabet & I performed at Concerthouse-Harpan. The performance included rollerblades, jazzhands, layouts, giant mushrooms and was framed with Björk Viggósdóttir´s videoart.

THE JUKEBOX – Glymskrattinn
To be premiered at the National theater of Iceland 25th May – Stay tuned!
In this new Icelandic stage performance, The National Theater “Leikhúskjallarinn” will be turned into an electric concert venue. The Jukebox attempts to find a new angle on music performances and well-known dance choreographies in today’s pop culture with a powerful and daring theater experience, balancing on the edge of dance and music.
The Jukebox is a dance concert where both mediums are treated as equals. It’s Valdimar Jóhannsson, a member of the bands Reykjavik!, Lazyblood and 9/11 along with the dancers/choreographers Melkorka Sigríður Magnúsdóttir and Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir that create the performance.
Melkorka Sigríður and Sigríður Soffía come together for the first time now in this exciting project, along with Valdimar Jóhannsson (music), Brynja Björnsdóttir (set Design) and Ellen Loftsdóttir (stylist)
The Jukebox is a part of the Reykjavik Arts Festival, supported by European
Youth in Action program, in collaboration with the National theater of Iceland.
Sigríður Soffía Níelsdóttir
